Solos is a bilingual theatre festival that exclusively programs solo shows. It is a yearly celebration of solo creation, and solitude in general. It was launched in 2013 by Bloody Underrated & Plein Espace, in collaboration with MainLine Theatre.
Co-Festival Director, Head of Media Relations
Sophie Croteau ran Plein Espace, a blog and podcast dedicated to Montreal's emerging theatre. She since worked all over town for multiple cultural organizations, including the Montreal FRINGE Festival, the Montreal Comic Arts Festival, and most recently RUBBERBANDance Group. She will be touring her first solo show Illustrated Lady in 2016, if the Fringe lottery Gods are on her side.
Co-Festival Director, General Manager, Technical Director
Al Lafrance ran Bloody Underrated to the top of the world, and then into the ground, on purpose. He operates the Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival, and performs regularly in Montreal. His solo show "The Quitter" has been performed in multiple cities across Canada, and has received widespread critical acclaim, as well as being awarded the Just For Laughs award for Best Comedy at the Montreal Fringe. He will be touring his new show "What Keeps Us Here" in 2016, if he survives until then.
